LEGO – Passion, Obsession, or Creative Inspiration

LEGO® Silver Champion

For me, it is actually all of those things.

I have always had a passion for the LEGO construction toys as a child into my adulthood. When I was younger the selection was not what it is today, but I was drawn to the Technic series in particular, with all of it’s special construction pieces like the axles, gears, connection pieces, bricks with holes and studs so that you could create moving mechanisms.

While I have grown and matured, so has the LEGO construction systems. What I thought had limitless possibilities before, now has redefined the boundless options and your only limitation is your imagination. If you can dream it, or think it, you can build with LEGO.

LEGO® Bionicle Kopaka

There are times when I was obsessed with different LEGO themes.  When Bionicle first came out, I couldn’t get enough. Acquiring all the different sets and different generations of this amazing series.  Of the original six characters of  Tahu, Gali, Onua, Pohatu, Kopaka, and Lewa – Kopaka is my favorite.

Being a sci-fi geek, you can imagine my glee when LEGO introduced the STAR WARS theme.  Sci-fi, LEGOs and STAR WARS all together as one, “Let the obsession begin!”

I have and will always enjoy the Technic series, whether it’s a motorized off-road truck, a pneumatic crane, replica Formula 1 race car, etc. Regular brick system sets with special pieces so that one can re-create the historic aerial battle between the Red Baron and Sopwith Camel to the Tower Bridge in London.

LEGO continues to surprise and astound me with all the new franchise themes that keep coming out of the minds of the truly inspirational toy construction system. Now they have the Architecture series – have I said obsessed enough in this post?

Let me know how you feel about LEGOs, if you have a favorite theme(s), what your favorite construction series is, and any inspiration stories or memories you have about them. I love to hear them.

I think it’s time for another “LEGO Therapy” session. ;)
